Beyond conventional fire retardants with Ember Guard
Developed by our Chief Scientist Matthew Wheeler, a former wildland firefighter who witnessed fire's devastating effects firsthand, Ember Guard represents a fundamental advancement in wood protection technology. While conventional treatments permit dangerous levels of smoke development (SDI up to 450) while still achieving Class A ratings, Ember Guard achieves a Smoke Developed Index of zero—addressing the primary cause of fire-related fatalities.

When independently tested by QAI Laboratories in 2025, Ember Guard demonstrated unique catalytic behavior under heat exposure, forming a progressively stronger internal barrier as temperature increases. This self-reinforcing protection makes it increasingly difficult for fire to spread, potentially giving occupants critical additional time for evacuation during a fire event.
